When will your number come up?

Some people may thing that this is the end of when it says, “When will your number come up?” Most people would think it this just a short film, but no it’s not. I thought about how I could have this writing pop up at the end of every killing or be placed on objects that are around discreetly like a calling card. This could bring the film to make a sequel; I thought how if every time the assassin killed someone I the writing “When Will Your Number Come Up?” this is how the name Bingo was made. I was going to make a Bingo calling card, which loads off assassins are trying to get the number. Numbers relate to people. When the assassin received the call on Skype, the person who gave the protagonist the job, he doesn’t say a name of the target he gives a set of numbers.  "I need you to kill subject matter 521" This could be anyone. He gives further instructions on what the target looks like and how you will recognise him.

I originally had Hotmail as the email supplier on my project, but I looked at the copy rights issues throughout this. So i had to change this. To get around this problem, I had a look at Googles rights on this issue. Hotmail had more strict issue on this. I wanted to use Hotmail because I am a frequent user and know the interface.

Behind Scenes

There are lots real media that influence my piece are film like the film “Wanted”, because he is just a normal person, who gets taken in to the different world. I wanted to get across that anyone could be anyone in my film. Don’t trust anyone. People do things for money, things that they are not proud of doing.

The aspect I tried to avoid was making my film to strong, make it 12/15, I dint try to add to much violets and gore. I have not added any bad language usage during the whole film. If I were part of the BBFC I would give the film a 12 certificate during the first part, but if I were going to make a full-length film, I would have to make my film a 15 because there would be more violence.

I have cut into the film to narrow it down to about 3 minutes but, if the film was longer I think the audience would find it lags in pace, so I have cut out some simple steps and speeded up some possesses. This helps the film flow and make scene, and have no unneeded footage included.

The sound is not perfect, I used a HD SLR camera to film my project. There is sound I have had to add and copy of different clips but if I had money and extra time inside the museum I would of make the sound perfect and put up wind barriers.

My piece opens with a collage of pictures of the protagonist and his life. This shows who he is. Make you feel comfortable with the protagonist; makes you feel like you know him. The film closes by the protagonist shooting his target with a sniper. This ends closes the film because, the target is dead and he has completed his assignment.

My film has lots of representational issues. The representations issues of Gender are, that women get the job were she does gets the package, she doesn’t have any power she is just sent to get he package. She doesn’t have any significant, she is just their do this simple job. If I was going to make this a full feature length film, I would of made the woman have more power and be in charge of this whole situation. Just like the main character in the film “Wanted”. If u read my storyboards, there is a woman at the end who is running the operation.

The representations issues of Age are that, young people are the people who are going to be in power, we are going to be the future and we are the next generation.

The representations issues of ethnicity is that, is that half cast Asian person, is the man who does the shooting, the assassin not ninja, like a stereo type, Asian assassin. He is a normal person, could be anyone. If the person were Black, this would follow the stereotype, of a black man killing someone. I have added an Asian male actor, as normal, casual as possible, anyone could relate to him even if they’re not Asian or any social ethnicity, the assassin could be anyone, Even You! 

I have chosen he Mese-en-scene because, it loco, people from Bristol will recognize Park Street in the center of Bristol. I have chosen to film the start of the film in my own house, in my own bed, this is I feel comfortable. I have put up pictures that I would like only my friends to see, not people would work with, close friends, this invites the viewer into my life. This makes the view feel like they know me. I have film in a iconic place in Bristol, this is the Bristol museum, this will help with publicity for the museum and help with tourists coming to Bristol.

I have added some Foley affects to my film, I have made the pick lock sound my self, I had a pick lock kit, which is one of my hobbies, so I re recorded this, to get the proper sound affect of picking a lock, when I filmed in the museum picking the lock, their was some static and back glowed noise. The pick locking was an iconic scene. The Skype call was pre recorded, this is because I did this with a proper microphone and I used a recording studio. I did not use a direct Skype to Skype call. I screen recorded the Skype call, and added the audio over the call.

The camera at the beginning of the film, is hand held, this is more like someone point of view, this like someone looking at his pictures. I wanted to make the audience feel like they were in the room, looking at the pictures them self.

The rest of the film is more tripod-based, but my camera bottom is broken, so I had to relay on the human had, keeping steady and possible.

The way I selected the actors is that I thought I would be the main person, the protagonist, I chosen my self because I have a collage of lodes of different pictures on my wall. I am also the most reliable person to sort out everything, if the protagonist was busy I could not do anything, but having myself as the protagonist I would always be on set. I could direct the camera people and direct my self, I could get the perfect shot and perfect action I wanted the protagonist to perform. The reason why I choses the other actors, is because, Jessica Puckett is my Girl friend and we was going to go down town together and I asked her to help me out. The other actor Liam is my best friend who did acting at GCSE so he was perfect person to use. He filmed the movie for me. He did photography as well. I did not want to have a massive crew to film the film because I promised them I would buy them lunch.

Myra Lee

We had an woman called Myra Lee coming to our school to help us out with different media journalism and editing. She watched my video and told me how i could improve the video, what to change and whats good.

I need to ask people what they think if my film. I am going to ask my mum to take my film to her work place. She works with a old teacher who use to teach art. He will give me tips to change and how to improve my work.

I am going to take screen shots of different movies and add them to my blog and annotate them.

I need to edit part of my film and film some part again, my camera focus/lighting part of my camera is broken. I had my camera on a tripod in the wind blew it down and the glass light protector smashed. I need to re film this.

The Public

When i was on the roof with the gun, their was a chance for someone to notice and call the police. I had signs put up and spotters to tell the public their was filming going on. I had asked 10 of my friends to help out and 7 of them turned up. One was helping me film, which included Liam Jordan and Jessica Puckett, who stared in my film. The other people were people i know from school and personal life came to help, and was going out that day, after i helped them film. They were telling people that their is filming going at the time. I had even asked some of the public to look shocked in the film to add some suspense and realism.

I have got music that has been mad from different artists and they I have not asked for permeation.

To get around this law on music, I have downloaded Virtual DJ Home. I have modified each song slightly and put them on a loop using the software provided by Virtual DJ. If the song is modified, not the original I should be able to pass copyright laws.

Each song I have purchased on ITunes or I purchased them in a licensed record store on CD and then transferred them to my computer to modify.

I have obtained the documents from David Lippatt. David had granted a me asses to the museum roof.

David had sent me the document to say I am allowed Asses to the roof. 

I will upload the document for proof.

There are rules and regulations for when we go up there. 

Woman rights in media

Woman have less action scenes than men. in films like james bond, the woman is just a woman sleep with the main guy and more of a desiccation for the audience and get male attention. women are hardly ever the main person behind the whole operation, even if their the ones trying to save the human race or assessment. I films like llara croft, salt and kill bill they have the main part, but when the main guy thats running the operation, he is a man. All the hence men are men, and their might be one supra woman. This is why i'm making a woman the main person of this assignation operation. In the film Death race the woman own the operation but not the main person in the film, she is just the person that runs the operation.

On the 11th and 12th of February on saturday and sunday, i have the museum roof booked out to do the shoot. I have asked David Lippiatt for permission and he has given me this date to shoot on. He is going to send me the health and safety for me and the other people going on their. David is the site manager at the museum and i will have some other site managers their to help out if any problems. They need to watch over us at all times and they have the final say on what we can do. They are going to give a health and safety breathing before we go up. I have been on the museum roof before so I have a idea on what i can do personally and i can plan out the shoot in my head. I have a air soft gun for the shoot, that I am allowed to use but not over the edge and vie for the public. their are different levels on the roof so i can create different affects for my shoot and mix to images together when i'm editing the final product.

Music recording

I have got a recording studio booked on the 25th of January, I am going to be recording with Dan Williams. I will be recording it in the studio at school, I am going to stay after school with Dan to record when it is more quiet. I am going to use the software from the school that they have provided, this is professional software which dan knows how to use. I might get some female singers to do other part of the film, the start of the film is going to be dan doing his rap, this rap is upbeat and tell a story about his life. Later on i will add some female vocals later on to add some mixture of tensions when the film progress.

This is a different clip front the movie The Bourne Ultimatum, this is the sniper scene, i would like to do something similar to this, but with out the two guys talking on the phone. Just the were the man snipes out the guy.

Wanted
This film is about one man, who is a normal person, nerdy, simple life, simple job. He gets taken into a group, this groups is full of assassins and they train him up. I tried to get this into my story to show that anyone could be anyone, everyone can be who they want to be.

The script for the assignment

I have a assignment for you. I know you it has been a long time, but i need some help. Theirs a package that needs to be collected, but its not a simple job. 

I will send you the coordinates to the destination. Their is a car parked in the corner of the car park on the level 4b and the key will be located under the back left wheel. I will supply you with all the equipment you need. If you are successful and receive the package safely then i will reward you with £50,000.  

Their will be a picture of the target in the case located in your car. Good Luck

The location

I’m going to film at the Bristol museum and art gallery, David Lippit is going to let me go onto the roof of the museum. This is where the main part of the film is going to happen; this is where the assassin takes his first victim.

For the start of the film, where u meet the main assassin, is going to be filmed at my house. This is because I’m going to play the main character.

Two assassins go into the forest, I’m going to use Blaise Castel, this is close to my house and is easy for all the actors to get to. There are loads of trees and there are other runners around so I would fit in.

How to get around the law

For league reasons, I can’t point the gun over the edge. The reason why I am not allowed to do that is because if one of the public sees it and they could think it is a real gun and then they would call the police and I would get arrested. To get a around this problem I’m going to use some camera cutting so it flows and looks like the edge. The museum roof has different levels, I’m going to use a different level were the public will not see the weapon. This also makes it safer if the gun falls and I can go below on the different level to film different angles. It will still look like the edge.

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 6

The camera is from a distance. All the assassins are dead. The picture is in black and white. And you’re watching it through a screen.

The camera zooms out and there is a woman watching the whole thing on her home computer. She is another assassin.

There is a piece of paper with loads of faces on. 3 of them are the people that just got killed. There is other faces on the paper which have not been crossed of. The women crosses off the face on the man who given the assignment. you’re not expecting their to be someone watching the whole thing. When she crosses the faces off the list this sets the story for the rest of the film.

Fades to black. To be continued..... 

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 5

The tracking device says he is on top of it. The person from before jumps down from the trees behind him with a pistol. They have a talk about why he is following him; this is where the 180 degree rule comes in.  

They both have a fight with the gun, a choreographed action sequence.

They both hold pistols up to each other face. Face to face, they both pull the trigger but both guns don’t have any ammunition. 

The man in a suit is stood there in the distance, clapping his hands; he walks towards the camera slowly fading in. He’s the man from the video. Both say u work for him at the same time. The boss pulls out 2 guns and shoots them both in the head and walks off. This is the second twist to the story.

The man picks up the package and walks away with it.

He looks into the package; the camera follows his eyes and sees his pov. A massive flash comes out off the package. But this is not the end.

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 4

This is the target on the floor dead. There is a crowd gathering around the target. A hooded man picks up the package and walks off. This is not part of the plan! 

The assassin lines up his next shot, this shot is for the man who has taken his package. The audience does not know who he is, either does the assassin, this add's a twist to the story, this makes the audience tense and wonder who is this person in the hood, his identity is hidden by his hood.

The assassin is lining up for his second shot, as he about to press the trigger, the phone rings, it his boss. The boss tells him that he failed, he should have got the package, but there is one more chance he says. There is a tracking device in the phone, follow it.

The boss sends him the link to the tracking device, he looks at the phone. You see the assassin POV. The camera looks at the phone, and moves swiftly up, there’s an ellipsis.

When the camera moves back up the assassin is at Blaise castle in the forest. He scans around looking where to go, the camera pan over the forest. You see his POV. 

The assassin jogs off the camera follows the assassin through the forest. The assassin is pretending to be a jogging man. But the assassin is looking for the guy with the package.

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 3

The assassin puts in the code to the alarm. The camera sees the back of him and his hand on the box. He walks up the spiral staircase, the camera in at the bottom following him up the spiral staircase.

There will be a camera already there. When he gets to the top the camera watches him come out the door, the camera is far away from him.  You see him walk to the side, the camera pan across the as the man walks to the side.

He drops his bag down and looks over the side, the camera is POV. He unpacks his equipment and makes his sniper gun and sets it up. He looks at the picture of target. Then he looks for his target. The camera is his POV.

You see the assassin raise scope to his eye. 

This is what the assassin sees through his scope, you see him line up his target. You see his finger pull the trigger; the camera is on the other side off the target when the built hits him in the head. 

This is the shot where the target gets hit in the head with the bullet, and drops the package. I'm going to add the affect of a gun shot using Imovie using a mac computer.

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 2

There is an ellipsis to the car park. This wastes time and skips the boring journey to the car park. The assassin is going to walk into the car park and look for the car; you will see the assassin walking into car park. The camera see the assassin walk past and view the back of him.

This is where you see the assassin point of view (POV), the assassin see the car and walks up to it. He collects the key and the camera will see his hand collect it. 

This is where the assassin opens the boot off the car with his key and gets out the equipment, this car will be owned by my sister. I will have permission from her to use it. The camera will see the equipment and see what he is getting out of the boot. you see the assassin read the instructions with a over voice and get his equipment. He closes the boot and gets into the car. The car will see him get into the car. The assassin will get into the back of the car so he can changed into his work uniform. 

There’s an ellipses. There’s a camera is on the side of the museum watching him go into the museum in his overalls. He goes up to the door and talks through the voice pad. They let him in.  

He goes through the underground basement way not the main entrance. When the assassin walking to the place where he need to go. He passes a security man who works there. The camera slows down as they pass each other. This shows that the assassin is thinking about everything and in his mind everything is going slow, if the security man notices he is not the real maintenance man he is in trouble and will be sent to prison for life and he would of failed his mission.

There is an ellipses to the door he needs to go into.  You see him coming up to the door, he tries to open it, it locked, and then you see him going into his bag, getting the pick lock set out of it. The camera vie is on his hand trying to pick the lock.  He opens the door, you see him go through.

My Movie Story Boards Explained Part 1

This is the 1^st shot you will see in my movie, this how the story begins where you see the assassin in his room asleep; the camera is going to slowly come up to the assassin. This shows he is a normal person sleeping and has to wake up at 8:00 because his alarm is going to go off. He has a normal room, which you can relate yourself or a friend to. The camera makes you feel like you know him and can just walk in to his room. The camera is like his mum point of view if she was going to wake him up for school/work. 

This is the 2^nd shot that the audience will see; the camera will pan over his pictures on his wall to show a bit about his life, this shows he a normal person with good social life. The pictures are in a collage stile, like a mood board. This makes the audience feel like you know him. If you got invited to his house for the first time, most people would have a look at their pictures to find out about the person.

This is the 3^rd shot that the audience will see; the camera will move over to the alarm clock, the radio will come on and the alarm will go off. The assassin will turn off the alarm, and turn up the radio. The music was originally planned to be (Hard Fi Hard to Beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jDxzl7y8QA&ob=av2n ) but because of copy right I’m going to use my friend Dan Williams who likes to make his own music, and who is also going to star in my film as the second assassin. I’m am going to burn it on to a CD so I can use it in my HI FI. The music is going to be diagetic, but it going to follow the characters when moves into the next scene, so it will become non diagetic. 

 This is the 4^th shot the audience will see. There is an ellipsis so it misses all the non important parts. He is in his kitchen on his laptop and eating his breakfast. The music is still playing because this is no important sounds. He is logging onto his computer. There is nothing important going on at this point, the audience still thinks he is a normal person surfing the internet. The lyrics may give the audience a clue about what the man is, but not giving to much information out.

This is where the audience see what he is looking at. He is logging on to his own private email account. The user name will give away what he is, there is going to be an assailment and a short video telling the audience and the assassin what he has to do. The man giving the assailment is Liam Jordan. This puts the story in place. 

This is where you see the assassin get into his car and goes to work. This is a short shot that will last the period that it takes the car to the road. I will get my dad to drive the car because I can’t drive a car legally. There is going to be some quick camera edits so it looks I have driven the car away.
